Navigating ELSA School: Assignments, Lessons, and Exercises

To navigate ELSA School effectively, it is important to understand how your coursework is organized. The content is structured into three distinct layers, moving from the overall task down to specific practice items.

1. The Assignment

The Assignment is the top layer. It represents the primary task assigned by a teacher or admin and includes a specific start and due date. You can find all your assigned tasks on the "My Assignments" home screen.

2. The Lesson

Once you click on an Assignment, you will see a list of Lessons. These are the specific activity modules you need to complete. Common lesson types include:

Study Sets: Lists of words or phrases.
Read Aloud: Paragraph-based speaking practice.
AI Role-Play: Conversational practice with an AI tutor.

3. The Exercise (Study Sets Only)

The Exercise layer is the most detailed level and is exclusive to Study Set lessons. When you open a Study Set, you will see individual cards for each word or phrase. You must complete every exercise card to finish the lesson.
