Assigning lessons to your students is a simple process that allows you to customize their learning path. A key feature of ELSA School is the ability to reorder lessons within an assignment to ensure students complete them in your preferred sequence.
Step 1: Select Your Lessons
Navigate to the Curriculum tab on the left-hand menu.
Browse your content and check the boxes next to the lessons you wish to include in the assignment.
As you select lessons, a bar will appear at the bottom showing the number of lessons selected. Click Assign to Class.
Step 2: Preview and Reorder Lessons
Before finalizing the assignment, you can manage the order of the content:
On the Preview screen, you will see a list of your selected lessons.
To Reorder: Click and hold the six-dot grid icon (drag handle) on the left side of a lesson. 3. Drag the lesson up or down to its new position.
Once the sequence is correct, click Continue.
Step 3: Review and Finalize Content
The Review Content screen allows you to see the finalized list.
You can still delete individual lessons here using the trash icon if needed.
Click Continue to Assignment Details.
Step 4: Set Assignment Details
Fill in the necessary information to deploy the assignment:
Select Class: Choose the specific class or classes that should receive this work.
Study Mode: Select between Pronunciation or Vocabulary.
Start & Due Date: Set the timeframe for when the assignment becomes available and when it is due.
Reminders: Choose to send notifications via the App or Email to remind students to complete their work.
Click Assign Now.
Student View
Once assigned, the lessons will appear in the Student App under the To Do tab.
The assignments will be listed in the exact order you arranged them during the creation process.
Students can click into an assignment (e.g., "Study Set") to see the specific lessons and tap Start Studying to begin.
[TIP] Use the reordering feature to guide students through foundational concepts before they move on to more complex exercises within the same assignment.
